Launching a national program on innovation, perfection and economic empowerment organized by the Ministry of Digital Finance under the theme ‘Let’s Build Together’ (GEW) successfully held on November 14, at the Temple Tree House.
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an international annual celebration celebrated by innovators and entrepreneurs together to create creativity, collaboration and economic growth. This year too, Sri Lanka has given continuous participation in it as part of the global network. ICTA is the one who is working as the National Host Organization of the program this time.
The ‘Together We Build’ program prioritizes initiatives to unite the entrepreneurial sector in Sri Lanka, empower communities and create sustainable growth through innovation. GEW 2025 is set to run as an island wide program, it will endeavor to raise Sri Lankan voice on international platforms, demonstrating creativity, proofing ability and collaboration.
Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Hon'ble Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne, Hon'ble Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abesinghe, Presidential Senior Advisor Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, and Varuna Sri Dhanapala Secretary of Digital Economy (Working) A large group of Raye veterans and local entrepreneurs came together.
Addressing the people in attendance, the Hon. Prime Minister showed the government's vision is to create a country where ideas, opportunities become, innovations that attract investments and citizens can benefit from it. For that, all sectors must work together to the national task of empowering local entrepreneurs for a digital economy.

The “Together We Build” initiative prioritizes strengthening Sri Lanka’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, empowering communities, and fostering sustainable growth through innovation. GEW 2025 is expected to be carried out as an island-wide program, highlighting the creativity, resilience, and collaborative spirit of Sri Lankans while elevating the Sri Lankan voice on global platforms.
The event was graced by Hon. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister, Hon. Eranga Weeraratna, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Chief Advisor to the President on Digital Economy and Mr. Waruna Sri Dhanapala, Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy, along with many industry experts and local entrepreneurs.
