The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL), operating under the Ministry of Digital Economy, has taken immediate steps to block access within Sri Lanka to 24 websites that have been unlawfully providing online gambling and betting services without obtaining the required licences.
This regulatory action was taken following a notification issued by the Gambling Regulatory Authority, operating under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, in accordance with the powers and provisions of the Gambling Regulatory Authority Act, No. 17 of 2025.
Under Sections 15, 16 and 18 of the Act, any person or entity providing or promoting online gambling services in Sri Lanka without obtaining a valid licence commits an offence under Section 44 of the Act. Accordingly, the TRCSL has instructed all telecommunications service providers to immediately block access to the identified illegal websites from within Sri Lanka.
The following unauthorized online gambling websites have been blocked with immediate effect:

The Ministry of Digital Economy and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka urge the public to refrain from participating in or investing money through unauthorized online gambling platforms that operate in violation of Sri Lankan law.
