The official launch ceremony of STEM Feed Sri Lanka, a new feature for information related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects more confidently in the TikTok social media space, took place on September 11 at the ITC Rathnadeep Hotel premises.

The event was held by Hon'ble Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Hon'ble Deputy Minister of Digital Finance Eranga Weeraratne as the chief guests.

The Honorable Prime Minister showed that instead of trying to protect them by keeping children away from technology, we should work to guide them to use technology wisely, effectively and creatively and then technology will become a tool that helps children's growth rather than harmful Gave it.

Mr. Ferdous Motakin, senior government policies and state relations head of South Asia, senior government officials, education officials, and a group of officials from TikTok were also gathered for the event.

The official launch of STEM Feed, a new TikTok feature dedicated to providing reliable content on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), was held on 11 September at the ITC Ratnadeepa Hotel in Colombo.

The event was graced by Hon. Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, and Hon. Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne, as Chief Guests.

In her remarks, the Prime Minister emphasized that rather than shielding children from technology, it is vital to guide them to use it wisely, effectively, and creatively, transforming technology into a tool for growth and learning instead of a source of harm.

The gathering was attended by Mr. Ferdous Mottakin, TikTok’s Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for South Asia, along with senior government officials, education leaders, and TikTok representatives.
