මෙරට ඩිජිටල්කරණ ක්ෂේත්රයට අදාළව කෘතිම බුද්ධි දත්ත ගබඩාකරණ පද්ධති පහසුකම් (AI Data Storage Facilities) වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම අත්යවශ්ය වන තත්වයක් තුළ ඒ සඳහා අවශ්ය අඛණ්ඩ සහ ස්ථාවර විදුලිබල සැපයුම දරාගත හැකි මිලකට ලබාදීම පිළිබඳවත් ඒ හා අදාළ අනෙකුත් අවශ්යතාවයන් සැපයීම කෙරෙහිත් මෙම සාකච්ඡාවේදී අවධානය යොමු විය.
එම අරමුණු ඉටු කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්ය ක‍්‍රියාමාර්ග හඳුනා ගැනීමේ අරමුණින්, ඊයේ (13) දින, ගරු බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය කුමාර ජයකොඩි, ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය එරංග වීරරත්න යන මහත්වරුන්ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් වන හමුවක් පැවැත්විණ.
මෙහිදී, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ AI දත්ත මධ්‍යස්ථාන (AI Data Centers) පිහිටුවීම හරහා ලැබිය හැකි මුල්‍යමය වාසි, නව ආයෝජන අවස්ථා, තාක්ෂණික ප්‍රගතිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් මේ ක්ෂේත්රය සඳහා අවශ්ය සියළුම ආකාරයේ සහයෝගය ලබාදීම ඉතා වැදගත් බව අවධාරණය විය.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථිකය පිළිබඳ ජනාධිපති ජ්‍යේෂ්ඨ උපදේශක ආචාර්ය හාන්ස් විජයසූරිය මහතා, ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්‍යංශයේ (වැඩබලන) ලේකම්, වරුණ ශ්‍රී ධනපාල සහ ඩිජිටල් ආර්ථික අමාත්‍යංශයේ නිලධාරීන් , බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යංශයේ නිලධාරීන් පිරිසක් ද එක් විය.
Discussions Begin on Developing AI Data Storage Facilities in Sri Lanka
Given the increasing necessity to enhance Artificial Intelligence Data Storage Facilities within Sri Lanka’s digitalization landscape, attention has now been directed toward ensuring a continuous and stable power supply at an affordable cost, as well as addressing other related infrastructure requirements essential for such development.
With the objective of identifying the necessary measures to achieve these goals, a discussion was held yesterday (13), presided over by the Hon. Minister of Power, Kumara Jayakody, and the Hon. Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eng. Eranga Weeraratne.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that establishing AI Data Centers in Sri Lanka could unlock significant financial benefits, create new investment opportunities, and foster technological advancement. Providing all necessary support for this sector was highlighted as vital.
The discussion was also attended by the Chief Advisor to the President on Digital Economy, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, the Acting Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy, Waruna Sri Dhanapala, along with officials from both the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Ministry of Power.
